Alexander Lich is a well-known writer living in Munich (Bavaria). He writes books in verse in the Russian language. They are available not only in prestigious bookstores in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg, but also in online shops. In particular, Hugendubel, Thalia, Osiander.de, Lehmanns.de, Amazon, as well as many other similar platforms in numerous countries.

BERLIN24: Two years have passed since our last meeting. We would like to know what has happened in your “creative field” during this time.

A. Lich: Thank you very much for inviting me to this interview. These two years have been very productive in my literary work. In addition to many poems, I have also written a new novel.

BERLIN24: Very interesting. Please tell us more about it in detail.

A. Lich: In January 2025, my collection of ironic, humorous and lyrical poems was published, titled “Irony – Humor – Lyric” (selected poems for adults). This work is recommended for readers aged 16 and older. It consists of two parts: “Irony – Humor” and “Lyric” and contains 226 pages. In August 2025, my next book was released – “Oscar’s Cruise”. This is my new large novel in verse, consisting of 90 chapters and 386 pages. The genre of this novel is adventure, fantasy and mysticism. It is intended for readers aged 14 and older.

BERLIN24: By the way, how many books have you written so far, and what are they about?

A. Lich: At the moment, six books have been published. Two of them are for children. The first is called “Fairy Tales for Children”. It contains two stories: “Lianka and Vianka in the Forest” and “A Tale about the Life of Deer”. The second is “Answer Poems for Children: WHAT, WHO AND WHY?” It includes 100 poems, each with four quatrains describing an object or an action and explaining to the child what it is, where it comes from, and how to relate to it. The third is the poetry collection “Irony – Humor – Lyric”, which I have already mentioned. The other three books are novels. The first is called “Fairy Tales for Adults about Tsar Zagul” and consists of two parts. The second is the mystical novel “The Mystery of the Strange Hospital”. The third, my newest one, “Oscar’s Cruise”, has already been discussed.

BERLIN24: Do you ever have to perform in front of readers or meet them in person?

A. Lich: Yes, of course. Two or three times a year, I meet with readers and present my new poems as well as already published works. I perform them in the format of a mono-performance, where I am both author and performer. The last such meeting took place in February 2025, where, in addition to new poems, I gave a mono-performance of my second novel “The Mystery of the Strange Hospital”. In 2024, based on my first novel “Fairy Tales for Adults about Tsar Zagul”, a stage production of its second part was presented in Munich under the title “The Heir and the Women of Tsar Zagul”. It was a tremendous success with a full house. The theatrical production, which I directed as the main stage director, involved 18 performers.

BERLIN24: Where can one watch your performances?

A. Lich: At the reader meetings I spoke about (I inform everyone in advance and publish announcements), or these performances can be viewed on my YouTube channel. There are about 40 different performances available there. I also perform at the Bavarian stand-up event, which usually takes place annually in October in Munich.

BERLIN24: And how and where can your books be purchased?

A. Lich: My books are sold in all bookstores in Germany (here the ISBN number of each book should be indicated) and in other countries, as well as through online stores such as Amazon, etc. The easiest way to find them is online, if you type in the search bar, for example on Google, in Russian — писатель александр лих —. BERLIN24: You write novels in verse. This is a very rare genre today. Where does this inclination come from?

A. Lich: When I wrote my first novel in verse, I liked it very much. Afterwards came the second and the third. I tried writing in prose as well, but writing a novel specifically in verse interests and inspires me much more.

BERLIN24: Traditionally: we would like to know about your current creative plans.

A. Lich: Writing has captivated me very deeply and strongly. Especially writing novels, which is what I am actively working on now. All my free time is dedicated to creating my next novel.
