On April 12 this year, all believers who follow the Julian church calendar celebrate the Holy Resurrection of Christ, or Easter. This event, described as the “feast of feasts and celebration of celebrations,” marks the Resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after His crucifixion. Easter primarily symbolizes the victory over death and the forces of evil, achieved by the Savior through His resurrection. It is therefore considered the most important event among all church commemorative dates.
This year, Orthodox Easter is celebrated on April 12 and continues for thirty-eight days among believers. This is due to the fact that, together with certain major feasts and other church holidays, Easter belongs to events that include a so-called “afterfeast” – days following the celebration during which prayers and hymns dedicated to the past feast are performed during services. This year, the last day of the afterfeast, also known as the “Leave-taking of Easter,” falls on May 20, one day before the Ascension of the Lord.
The Holy Resurrection carries a powerful unifying meaning, symbolizing the triumph of renewal and the rebirth of life. It inspires people to perform good deeds and calls for inner spiritual purification.
Considered one of the oldest and most significant feasts in Christian tradition, it remains a central and life-affirming element of Orthodox customs, historical heritage, and spiritual teachings.
Regardless of religious views, movements, or traditions, Easter remains a truly wonderful celebration for all Christians, bringing joyful unity to families and friends.
We sincerely congratulate you on the bright feast of Easter!
May warmth and sincere kindness fill your hearts!
We wish you good health and well-being!
May the love and care of your loved ones warm your soul, and may simple human happiness always be with you!
